Sonic Rumble is generating buzz even before its global launch, and it's doing so with an exciting crossover event called Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event kicked off and will run until May 7th, just ahead of the worldwide launch scheduled for May 8th. Currently, Sonic Rumble is in soft launch and accessible in over 40 countries, having already rolled out in phases. The first pre-launch occurred in Summer 2024 in regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, followed by a second pre-launch in countries such as Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, and South Africa.
What’s in Store?
If you're in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble soft-launched, you're in for a treat with the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. The event brings back the iconic Altered Beast crew, offering the Werewolf transformation for free. Fans of the nostalgic beast modes can also grab the Werebear and Weredragon, though with different payment methods. The Weredragon is included in the Premium Pass, while the Werebear might be available for purchase with regular rings.
The crossover also introduces Fantasy Zone elements with Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa. Opa-Opa is part of the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be acquired through fragments bought with standard rings, with each fragment priced at 700 rings.
Additionally, AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball join the fun. If you're particularly interested in AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. To see the excitement of the crossover event in action, check out the video below.
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During the event, players can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos during matches. While it might seem unusual to have such an event before the global release, SEGA assures fans that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again in the future.
This first crossover event dives deep into SEGA's rich history, bringing together monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and powerful were-creatures with Sonic and friends, adding to the anticipation and promise of Sonic Rumble.
You can download Sonic Rumble from the Google Play Store now if you're in a soft-launch region or wait for its official release on May 8th in your area.
