Marvel Rivals Players Have an Idea to Improve Proficiency Rewards

Marvel Rivals' Reward System Under Fire: Players Demand More Accessible Nameplates

Marvel Rivals players are voicing discontent over the game's reward system, specifically the difficulty in obtaining nameplates without significant in-app purchases. This frustration has sparked a lively discussion within the community, highlighting the perceived imbalance in accessibility.

The game, launched in December 2024, recently concluded its Season 0 and is currently underway with Season 1, boasting an expanded battle pass with numerous cosmetic rewards, including character skins, sprays, emotes, and the contested nameplates. While the Season 1 battle pass offers a wider array of rewards compared to its predecessor, the scarcity of nameplates remains a key point of contention.

Reddit user DaPurpleDerpleOf ignited the debate, pointing out the disparity between the abundance of Lore Banners and the limited availability of nameplates. Many players consider nameplates a crucial element of self-expression and character customization, but their acquisition often hinges on monetary investment. The suggestion to convert Lore Banners into nameplate rewards gained significant traction, offering a potential solution to alleviate the frustration.

Adding fuel to the fire, players are advocating for the inclusion of nameplates within the Proficiency Point reward system. Proficiency Points, earned through gameplay achievements like character mastery and combat performance, currently unlock a range of rewards. However, the community strongly believes that adding nameplates to this system would provide a more skill-based and rewarding path to obtain these coveted items. The sentiment is widespread, with players describing the omission as a missed opportunity and a straightforward improvement.

The recent Season 1 update, introducing new characters like Sue Storm and Mister Fantastic, along with fresh maps and modes, has not overshadowed this ongoing debate. The addition of new content underscores the game's longevity, but the core issue of reward accessibility remains a central concern for the player base. As Season 1 continues until mid-April, it remains to be seen whether developers will address these concerns and implement changes to the reward structure.
