Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide
Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the Rinascita region and its challenging Tacet Discords, including the formidable Lifer. This guide details how to defeat this unique Chop Chop, located in Oakheart Highcourt's maze within the Fagaceae Peninsula.
Finding the Lifer
The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze's central structure, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is on the southwest side, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer's Board Game
The Lifer is positioned beside a six-piece board game. Players (black pieces) aim to create three-in-a-row before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens maze walls and gates in that direction. The game can be exited and resumed, preserving piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for buff removal. Avoid winning before debuffing the Lifer, as it initiates combat immediately.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer possesses seven buffs; four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. The buffs are visible on a glowing yellow module behind the Lifer.
Removable Buffs (using Stakes of Imbalance):
- Growing Loneliness: 10% Max HP recovery per second after 2+ seconds without being attacked.
- Desire for Escape: 25% ATK increase; additional 25% DMG increase every 20 seconds.
- Impending Stalemate: 20% ATK increase per DMG instance (stacks up to 4 times, resets after 6 seconds without DMG).
- Decay of Time: 200% resistance to all elemental damage types (Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, Havoc) and a 25% Max HP increase.
Permanent Buffs:
- Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
- Endless Game: 50% reduction in Immobilization duration.
- Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking >25% Max HP damage in a single hit.
Locating Stakes of Imbalance:
Use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (white glow). Challenges include defeating Tacet Discords or breaking Friable Rocks in some rooms.
Place each Stake of Imbalance in the corresponding module to remove a buff (purple lines turn yellow).
Defeating the Lifer
After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer (either win the board game or choose "Fight it out!"). The debuffed Lifer is significantly weaker. Its attacks pose minimal threat.
Rewards:
- First victory: Premium Supply Chest
- Second victory: Premium Supply Chest + 3 Basic Supply Chests
- Third victory: Advanced Supply Chest + 3 Standard Supply Chests
Re-enable buffs via the modules for a more challenging fight (no achievements for this).
Lifer Achievements
- The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
- The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine chests (defeat the Lifer three times).
- Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
- Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.
Board Game Strategy: Focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines; it will eventually make a mistake.
