Elden Ring Adds Two Classes in Nintendo Switch 2 Tarnished Edition

Author : Harper May 14,2025

Elden Ring is set to make its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 with the highly anticipated Tarnished Edition. This version promises to bring a fresh experience to players with new bonuses, including additional character classes and new appearances for the beloved steed, Torrent.

During the "FROMSOFTWARE GAMES EVENT Spring 2025" held in Tokyo on May 6, as reported by Famitsu, FromSoftware unveiled exciting details about Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. The event introduced two new character classes: the "Knight of Ides" and the "Heavy Armored Knight." While specifics about these classes remain under wraps, they are part of a broader update that includes four new armor sets, two of which will be available in-game. Additionally, new weapons and skills were teased, adding to the anticipation surrounding this release.

For fans of Torrent, the spirit horse, there's good news: three new appearances for Torrent will be included in the Tarnished Edition. This edition also encompasses the Shadow of the Erdtree content. Moreover, FromSoftware has confirmed that these enhancements will be available on other platforms through the Tarnished Pack DLC, which is expected to be priced affordably.

The introduction of new classes is particularly intriguing, especially for players starting fresh on the Switch 2. It offers a chance to experiment with different playstyles, which could be appealing to those who have already explored Elden Ring on other platforms.

Elden Ring's success cannot be overstated, having surpassed 30 million sales worldwide. This monumental achievement underscores the game's widespread appeal, and its arrival on the Switch 2 is poised to further boost its popularity.

While no specific release date has been announced for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 or for the Tarnished Pack DLC, both are slated to launch sometime in 2025. Fans of the series have much to look forward to as FromSoftware continues to expand the Elden Ring universe.
