Hyper Light Breaker: Unlock Every Character

Hyper Light Breaker offers a diverse roster of playable characters, each with unique fighting styles, to tackle the Abyss King. These Breakers provide varied gameplay experiences.

Unlocking new characters is relatively straightforward, though the game doesn't explicitly explain the process. This guide details how to obtain all current Breakers. Note that this guide reflects the early access version, and the unlock method may change with future updates.

How to Get New Characters in Hyper Light Breaker

To unlock new characters, you'll need Abyss Stones, dropped exclusively by Crowns (bosses). Before facing Crowns, you must acquire Prisms—keys to boss arenas—indicated by golden diamond icons on the map.

After defeating a boss, return to the Cursed Outpost teleporter. Select the Breaker you wish to unlock and spend your Abyss Stones to add them to your roster. While nine characters exist, currently only two are unlockable via Abyss Stones. The unlock method for remaining characters is yet to be determined.

All Characters in Hyper Light Breaker

Each Breaker starts with a SyCom, a key item defining base stats and core perks, shaping their playstyle. Here's a breakdown of each character and their unique abilities:

Vermillion

Vermillion, the starting character, uses the Gunslinger SyCom, favoring ranged combat. Critical Rail shots guarantee a subsequent crit. Alternatively, unlock the Tank SyCom for melee combat, rewarding perfect parries with increased armor and enhanced defensive stats.

Lapis

Lapis, like Vermillion, begins with a Rail-focused SyCom, Lightweaver, boosting Rail shot damage after Battery pickups. The unlockable Warrior SyCom increases core stats with each upgrade, making her incredibly powerful late-game.

Goro

Goro is a ranged glass cannon. His Astrologer SyCom accelerates Blade skill charging while shooting, while the Sniper SyCom boosts critical hit rate. High damage potential, but lacking defensive options, requires skillful play.
