Developer Shift Up has officially announced a full-fledged sequel to Stellar Blade.
The action title, published by PlayStation, debuted in April 2024 to a positive reception. Players frequently noted its gameplay blends elements of NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
South Korean studio Shift Up confirmed the sequel is in development. The announcement was made through a corporate roadmap chart included in its latest financial results, published today.
A presentation slide outlining Shift Up's franchise expansion strategy lists a Stellar Blade sequel as the next major release, scheduled to arrive before 2027 alongside other upcoming titles.
Prior to the sequel's launch, the roadmap mentions a "platform expansion" for Stellar Blade. This most likely refers to the game's PC version, which is slated for release on June 11, 2025.
This development cycle, concluding before 2027, will also see the debut of Shift Up's enigmatic Project Witches. This new multiplatform action RPG has yet to be fully unveiled.

Earlier this week, Shift Up stated it was "in close discussions" with Sony regarding a puzzling PC region lock issue. This had prevented the game's Steam store page from being visible in over 100 countries.
"Stellar Blade distinguishes itself as a visually stunning and meticulously crafted action game, boasting significant strengths alongside some clear weaknesses," IGN noted in its Stellar Blade review.
"Its narrative and character development lack depth, and certain RPG mechanics are poorly executed—such as repetitive side quests that often force players to backtrack through previously explored areas with little variation or rewarding incentives.
"However, its combat mechanics largely compensate for these shortcomings, featuring a robust, Sekiro-inspired fighting system, a diverse roster of grotesque monsters to battle, and numerous hidden collectibles that effectively encourage thorough exploration."
