During their adventures in Ahn'qiraj, players encountered a mysterious Shadowy Figure amidst the desert ruins. Speculation suggested this figure could be Xal'atath, the main antagonist from World of Warcraft: The War Within, but the NPC's cryptic comments about the Old Gods left much to the imagination.
