Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2: Two Proven Methods

Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a significant hurdle in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide details two reliable methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests and storyline advancements.

Method 1: The Spirit Bridge

The remnants of the bridge, northeast of Cloisterwood (near Jahan and Witch Alice), are visible using Spirit Vision. Crossing requires creative use of abilities or items:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: These allow teleporting party members individually across the broken sections. While time-consuming, it's a reliable option.

  2. Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable teleporting, but their availability depends on your party composition.

  3. Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids are needed. One companion uses translocation to reach the other side, then the rest teleport to them using the pyramids.

  4. Fast Travel: Once a companion reaches Bloodmoon Island using a translocation method, discover the waypoint and use fast travel for the rest of the party.

Method 2: The Undead Ferry (Fane-Specific or with Teleporters)

An undead ferryman, northwest of Cloisterwood, offers passage across the Deathfog.

  • With Fane: Fane's undead nature grants immunity to Deathfog. He can take the ferry alone, reach the island, discover the waypoint, and allow the rest of the party to fast travel.

  • Without Fane: This requires at least two Teleporter Pyramids:

    1. Equip a Teleporter Pyramid on a companion.
    2. Send that companion via the ferry (they will die upon arrival).
    3. Use the second pyramid to teleport to the deceased companion.
    4. Resurrect the companion.

Important Note: Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless you've saved your game. He retaliates with a potentially lethal Deathfog spell. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP. If you don't have Fane, the bridge method is generally faster and less risky.
