inZOI game director Hyungjun Kim recently revealed intriguing details about an upcoming Karma system, introducing a paranormal element to the game's realistic simulation of life. This system will determine the fate of deceased Zois, transforming them into ghosts based on their accumulated Karma points.

High Karma Zois will transition to the afterlife, while those with insufficient points remain as ghosts, bound to the mortal realm until they atone for their actions. The specific methods for restoring Karma points remain undisclosed.

Kim assures players that ghost interactions will be carefully balanced to avoid overshadowing core gameplay, offering engaging encounters under specific circumstances. In the Early Access version, these interactions will be limited to special conversations at designated times.

While inZOI prioritizes realism, Kim expressed interest in exploring more fantastical elements, suggesting the Karma system is a first step into this direction. He views this as a way to enhance the game's simulation of life's complexities.

A Sneak Peek at Karma Interactions

A sponsored video by content creator MadMorph offered a brief preview of the Karma Interaction system. This system allows Zois to perform actions that impact their Karma score, both positively and negatively. The video showcased a humorous example of a negative interaction (secretly farting on another Zoi), while positive actions like recycling or liking a friend's post were mentioned but not demonstrated.

While the Early Access release (March 28, 2025 on Steam) will focus on the living Zois, the Karma Interaction system promises to significantly impact future gameplay.
