"Bloodborne PC Emulation Achieves Nearly Stable 60 FPS"

Digital Foundry’s Thomas Morgan put Bloodborne to the test on the ShadPS4 emulator, analyzing its performance and the technical advancements introduced by modders. For his evaluation, Morgan utilized the ShadPS4 0.5.1 build crafted by diegolix29, derived from the custom branch developed by raphaelthegreat. As per the expert, multiple builds were examined, with this particular version delivering optimal results on a PC equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 GPU.

Morgan advised installing the Vertex Explosion Fix mod to eradicate visual anomalies, such as stretched or misaligned polygons. Although this mod disables the ability to customize the character’s appearance before starting, it effectively resolves visual glitches. No additional critical mods are necessary, as the emulator already incorporates everything needed. This includes a dedicated menu allowing users to enable features like 60 fps support, upscale to 4K, or disable chromatic aberration.

Despite occasional stutters, Morgan observed that Bloodborne maintained 60 fps most of the time. During his trials, he experimented with higher resolutions, such as 1440p and 1800p, noting enhanced image quality but experiencing decreased performance and frequent crashes. Consequently, Morgan recommends running Bloodborne on ShadPS4 at either 1080p, similar to the PS4, or 1152p.

In conclusion, the expert praised the ShadPS4 team for achieving this remarkable feat of PS4 emulation. While Bloodborne functions exceptionally well on the emulator, some technical challenges remain.
