Cox Critiques 'Least Liked' Daredevil Episode

Author : Joshua Sep 23,2025

The path from script to screen for Daredevil: Born Again involved numerous revisions, yet only one episode remained unchanged - surprisingly, Episode 5, which star Charlie Cox considers his "least favorite" of the season.

"Here's something interesting - we didn't alter a single scene in the bank episode," Cox revealed during a recent interview with The Playlist. "That was part of our original shoot before the strikes. Personally, I wasn't completely sold on it."

The actor explained how he "argued against it as much as I responsibly could." The episode centers on Matt Murdock (Daredevil) getting entangled in a bank heist while securing financing for Nelson & Murdock law firm with partners Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).

"The concept felt outdated, like something from a 70's crime drama," Cox remarked. "With modern banking security, the robbery plot seemed implausible to me. The thieves' methods didn't feel sophisticated enough for today's world."

Despite his reservations, Cox acknowledged the episode's surprising popularity: "I strongly disagreed with many creative choices, yet countless fans tell me they love it. It proves how subjective storytelling can be. Apparently, it's one of Disney's highest-rated shows internally."

Critics agreed with audiences - in our Daredevil: Born Again Episodes 5 and 6 Review, we praised: "The execution is flawless. Few Marvel shows deliver such consistent enjoyment and engagement throughout an episode. This installment importantly showcases Matt Murdock's unique heroism, even without his costume."
