Firaxis, the developer behind Civilization 7, has released patch 1.0.1, addressing player concerns following the game's full launch. The patch, available for PC, Mac, Linux, and Steam Deck, is the first of several planned updates to address feedback gathered during the game's advanced access period. This initial release focuses primarily on bug fixes and improvements based on community feedback.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged mixed initial reviews, expressing confidence that the core Civilization fanbase will embrace the game with continued play. He characterized the game's early performance as "very encouraging."
This patch temporarily disables cross-play multiplayer between PC and console players to streamline PC updates. This change will not affect console-to-console or PC-to-PC multiplayer.
